This is an additional detail description to the regular HD-AE5000 leaflet.
The HD-AE5000 is not only a hard disk system which extend the floppy disk media capacity, no, it is a complete data control centre with all functions and help tools to satisfy the musicians on stage.

Many of the HD-AE5000 functions are working in the background and will be found as helpful features only during the daily work.

And here are the 4 most important hardware component's from the HD-AE5000:

	Flash-ROM and S-RAM
	2.5" Hard disk drive
	Parallel port
	Audio output's

The HD-AE5000 board was designed and produced with the most common technology and fullfil the extended measurements to get the CE mark approval. Also the parallel port cable which comes with the HD-TechManager5000 is controlled for CE mark.

Flash-ROM and S-RAM
If necessary you can update your HD-AE5000 extension very easily with a new program Update disk with the installed floppy drive. Only the built in big static RAM memory made it possible to allow an overviewing of the whole directory structure of the hard disk during play. During boot-up all text strings incl. directories, titles and FLS will be copied into this memory area.

Hard disk
HD-AE5000 comes with a 1.08 GByte, 2.5" hard disk drive mounted on the HD-AE5000 extension board. The BIOS system is using a 32bit program architecture and includes many security checks.
Very important: On all manuals of the most famous hard disk manufacturer's you will find the remarks about the very dangerous waves and moves during seek and search of the HDD. This is also the reason why we strictly park the HDD heads and switch off the HDD motor during play. The consequence is, that HD-AE5000 is not able to play the GM files in the direct play mode from HDD. All load and save operations can only be reproduced during breaks. Do avoid foreigners access to your hard disk the HD-AE5000 is always write protected after every power ON function and also the pass word from your disks will be checked during FD save.

Parallel port
We still selected the parallel port as the communication port because every PC has such a port and the speed of the extended bi-directional protocol is fare enough for the keyboard operation system. To not connect the HD-AE5000 board the wrong way with your PC we decided to use a 15 pin I/O port on the HD-AE5000.
Since the parallel port need a special transfer protocol the parallel port can only be used with the HD-TechManager5000.

Audio outputs
On requests from many musicians we guess realized the best possible solution for separate outputs for bass and drums. In details, there are 3 different selections (Drums L/R, Drums and bass mixed stereo, Drums L and Bass R) and for MIDI file play you also are able to select the tracks for drums and bass, or you can separate any other track to your main PA system. Because of KN5000 hardware reason's, all separate outputs are developed as direct out and have no volume control from the KN5000. They have the same level as the line out puts.
